Common washer malfunctions typically fall into three categories: drainage, movement, and leakage. A clogged drain pump or a kinked hose is the usual suspect when a machine refuses to drain or spin, often leaving clothes soaking wet. If the machine is shaking violently or making loud banging noises, it is likely due to an unbalanced load, damaged shock absorbers, or leveled feet that have vibrated out of alignment.  Lastly, water leaks are frequently traced to perished door seals in front loaders or cracked internal hoses, both f which can lead to significant water damage if not addressed.
